The 3M Steri-Strip skin suture is an adhesive strip designed for non-invasive closure of acute traumatic or surgical wounds as first intention, as an early replacement for wires or staples, or in combination with them. 3M Steri-Strip can be placed under plaster or resin.

The 3M Steri-Strip suture allows, with a simple installation technique, the rapprochement of the edges of the wound with perfect congruence and great security linked to the reinforcements longitudinal in polyester threads, and with specific adhesiveness. This is a non-invasive technique; it is therefore painless and limits the risk of local infection; it gives an aesthetic scar without stitch marks and without scale. 3M Steri-Strip provides a stronger scar more quickly than suture, offers the best local healing conditions due to its high permeability to water vapor and gases, as well as very good skin tolerance, with strong tensile strength. It is not indicated on a wound in the traction zone where the suture will offer better resistance to tension. Steri-Strip leaves no residue when removed.
